The wall and room sculptures by Heike Weber (born 1971 in Nürtingen, lives and works in Cologne) develop their own formal language through the interconnection of arches. The result is ceramics with interior spaces. They display a complexity and three-dimensionality, blending into their surroundings with an unobtrusive lightness whilst creating a space of their own.
Clarity in the concrete form, the three-dimensionality on the wall, the interplay with space in the form and the application of glaze on the finished object are the hallmarks of these ceramics. The ceramic objects are unique pieces and are not produced from a mould. Each object is shaped, fired, polished and often glazed several times by hand.
The objects seem to effortlessly combine clarity and arrangement of form, and despite the weight of the material, they present themselves with a dynamic presence that fills the space and an unobtrusive character. Series offer further scope through their diverse arrangement possibilities.
