Through his assemblages, Sergio Femar investigates the expansion of a repertoire that is no longer limited solely to the pictorial currents that he has absorbed throughout his career, but also encompasses those that highlight the independence of the object and the materiality of the support. He interacts with this support, challenging and molding it through the expressive touch of his paint and a skillful manipulation of forms. Wood and fabrics are conceived as spatial responses that oscillate between the rigid geometric structure and the organic expansion of forests, following the dynamic processes of movement, growth and change. Therefore, it is crucial to appreciate their three-dimensional dimension as an essential part of the pictorial practice from which they arise, since they not only reflect the configuration of their visual language, but also their own transformation.
